One of a series of 28 illustrations I did for this book project for Bill Roberts' Bottle of Smoke Press.
Pat Bentar played at First Avenue in Minneapolis on her first tour, that leotard tour, and her best line of the night was, "It's really hard to sing in tune when you're on your period!" Later she sold a lot of records to some facet of society I am not privy to, and the people who stood to make a lot of money off her probably told her to "knock it off already" with human, candid comments like that. So she did, and she's never been the least bit interesting since. It really makes you think, doesn't it. Doesn't it? Ah, me neither.
