kill the pope!
Made on a page of the 1708 book, An Exposition the Five Poetical Books of the Old Testament, Vol. II, 8 3/4 x 14"
once I saw the band Black Uhuru play in a stinky little bar in Minneapolis, and during a break between songs the singer, Michael Rose, stood with his back to the audience for a few seconds, then suddenly spun around and screamed into the microphone, "kill the pope!" man, you just don't see stuff like that anymore. it's got nothing to do with this painting, but there you go.
and yes, i know it's "complaining," not "complaing." hey, it's hard spelling with a paintbrush. you try to do it!
